The EdukCircle - International Center for Communication Studies has successfully concluded the 10th EdukCircle International Convention on Psychological Communication: Psychology of Motivation and Inspiration in Education. It was held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University last Sunday, August 03, 2014.

 

Dr. Yue Xiaodong, Associate Professor and Assistant Dean of the College of Liberal Arts of the City University of Hong Kong, discussed Motivation and Happiness. He elaborated on the historical development on the studies of motivation. Another speaker who discussed motivation and inspiration is Dr. Christopher Fong, associate professor at the School of Positive Psychology in Singapore. He focused on motivation as a psychological construct. The final speaker of the day was Dr. Ronnel King who is a summa cum laude psychology graduate of the Ateneo. He is a research scientist at the National Institute of Education in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Dr. King discussed the topic: What Keeps Us Going: A Psychological Perspective on Student Motivation.

 

Participants were treated with a hearty laugh when motivation guru and one of the most sought after  inspirational speakers, Mr. Michael Angelo Lobrin delivered his humorous and motivational talk .  Lobrin shared with the students that to make life meaningful, one should surround himself with people who have positive outlook in life.
